drawing our heroes

here is an illustration of ramona quimby that i got to do for a playbill. (when i reread the book, i was delighted to rediscover that she wrote and drew her name with the Q as a cat.)

at the time i was working on my ramona, i didn't search for all the other illustrated ramonas. now it is fun and it makes me see what makes my work my own. from my childhood, i think of this one. here are a few others: an old ramona, the newest ramona, german ramona
