owl post

so i sent my owl off to keene state today. i had such fun drawing an owl. at first i was rather intimated by the idea of drawing feathers. they made me think trying to draw fire or waves. tricky. i got all side tracked in my research reading about athena (notice the olive colored paint above) and then my emily dickinson reading spilled over from my snowflake.

but it all tied together last night after i was finished and thought about the quotation and athena, who grew up inside zeus's head. she would have a rather interesting take on "the Brain - is wider than the Sky."

(p.s. click on the keene state owl label below to see the post with my original sketch)
