a long ago borrowed book found its way home recently. i flipped through trying to remember reading it and found an underlined passage, which reminded me how much i have been missing the act of painting.

"so third grade"
there is a great review of Our Friendship Rules in the hidden gems section of the january Ingram newsletter. thank you, norma lilly for saying "The real delight of this book is Alissa Imre Geis' imaginative illustrations...Her touches are so third grade." because that was exactly what i was going for.
